The day started out just like any other, I
remember walking down the hall to get to my locker, during passing time after
1st hour. When I got to my locker my
best friend, since kindergarten, told me that a plane had crashed into the
World Trade Center. When I heard him
say that I was really confused because I kind of didn’t believe it, but yet
everybody I saw was talking about it.
Then I went to second hour, and the whole
class time we watched the news to try and figure out what was going on. I recall looking up at the television about
a quarter of the way through the hour, and they had a news camera aimed at the
two towers I remember the smoke and flames coming out of the tower that had
been struck. Then out of the corner of
my eye, I saw another plane heading for the building. Out of common sense I knew that plane was not supposed to be
there, but all I could do was watch as the second plane exploded into the
second building. Never could words describe
the feelings, and emotions that were spiraling through my head at that moment;
but I can say that I had this horrible feeling in the bottom of my stomach, and
it still comes back when I think of what I saw on that hellish day.
Now it was third hour, and that was when I
heard about a third plane that had crashed into the Pentagon. That troubled me the most because a lot of
military intelligence work there, and they were totally unaware, and unprepared
for what happened. I don't even want to
go into what I feel about that.
In
conclusion I will never forget those innocent people that died, and all of the
tragic events on September 11, 2001.
